harish unnikrishnan, Kuwait
made for the book: One Minute on Earth 2014
This is a restaurant, Marina Waves, built on reclaimed land jutting out into the sea. With huge reserves of oil, Kuwait has transformed itself, from a desert to a modern country.
I had already decided on my spot days in advance. The time 12:00am in Kuwait. It was hot, 38C (during the day its 49C), windy and slightly dusty. So the sea was choppy and i couldn't get smoother reflection in the water. Besides these problems, the biggest fear, for my wife and I, would have been getting caught by security forces in the middle of the night with a DSLR and a tripod. This is mainly because of the terrorist attacks going on in neighboring Iraq. Luckily got the job done and reached home safe.
I hope this picture does justice and that this project will be a big success. I wish to thank everyone involved in this project.
