These "Concrete mushroom" towers can be seen looming in different parts of Kuwait. They are water tanks of slightly varying heights.
On the 5th of April, 2013, Kuwait was hit by a sandstorm ( http://www.kujaja.com/en/photo/5534
). Some last for minutes and some for days. The farthest building, the one in the middle, is about 300 meters away. No one would like to take their gear out in this weather, no matter what the cost of your equipment might be. Luckily for me, on D-Day the dust cleared. If you look at the pictures here, you will notice the haze in the distance.
I had decided on my spot 2 days in advance. Its about 1 km from where I live. So getting there in time was not a problem. These shots were taken without a tripod. I included the street with traffic to show signs of life at the time. My time in Kuwait : 3PM. Got the right time after initial confusion reading through various conflicting posts regarding daylight savings switch. The sun is shining in from the right and those clouds looked like they were just waiting for me. During this shoot, I realized how long or short one minute is and how valuable every second is. Also wondered, in one minute where the water from these towers ended up and for what.
I would like to thank "kujaja", the members and the viewers.
