B&W Omaha - Nebraska (4:10 A.M)

B&W Omaha - Nebraska (4:10 A.M) A black and white version, the neutral colors give a unique characteristic to the image creating different emotions. With a challenge in hand I prepared to take the best image I could at 4:10 a.m in the silent suburbs of Omaha, Nebraska. Although it was difficult waking up so early I was inspired by the chance to capture a moment in time. As soon as I walked outside the cool breeze of the Autumn night woke me up. I stood there taking in the scene of the peaceful night. The limited number of vehicles on the road with the beautiful night sky, utility poles, and the combination between the city and the suburbs gave this image its unique qualities. The bright lights of the city provided a magnificent illumination behind the dark shadows of the trees as thought it were the guardian protecting the people who slept preparing for the day to come. The utility pole like a life line proving light where there is none and giving light to life. The stars glistened on the hushed night sky as a car zoomed by in the alluring low lit road blazing a path of the morning arrive and the city to come to life once again. ...

Cabo Silleiro - Baiona (Spain)

Cabo Silleiro - Baiona (Spain) Leaden autumn day on the Galician coast. The lighthouse at Cabo Silleiro, undaunted, monitoring the output of the Ria de Vigo on the Atlantic immensity. Great opportunity to participate in the OMOE again. Congrats and regards to everybody. ...

San Antonio ,Caracas

San Antonio ,Caracas This is San Antonio, a small town, near Caracas, in the mountains, founded in 1683 by Spanish colonies. In this same landscape I have seen amazing moments, intense storms, bright sunrises, beautiful mist, awesome moons, but this day, the sky was overcast and very cold and windy, I still decided to take photo to OMOE I hope you enjoy it. ...

A Thousand Hours

A Thousand Hours This is a photograph taken in Costa Nova Beach, Ílhavo, Aveiro City, Portugal, near my place. It was a very stormy morning and I went there to do some long exposure shots, hoping to catch some moody landscape images because of that weather. All the gear for the L.E. stuff was in the backpack and hanged in my sholder I had my little dslr for some handheld shots. The spot is very well know to me, and just when I was arriving there I saw the man going away from the spot..., but suddenly he stopped and turn back, he started walking back in the direction of the old lady sitted in the wood stairs. I just had the time to turn on that camera, compose the frame and start shooting. It was the only good shot of that morning. ...

The Last Warm Saturday - Accidentally OMOE 2015

The Last Warm Saturday - Accidentally OMOE 2015 I didn't plan to participate in the project as I had a meeting appointed before noon on Saturday Oct 10, 2015. I was not supposed to take photos on my way to the meeting but as I choose the shorter way across the park and I saw this shadows play I just couldn't stop myself :) So I did it but without checking the time and not even remembering of the project. Tonight I uploaded this photo to enter the Shades & Lights competiton and I noticed that it was taken exactly at the time settled for the project. So here I am :)) ...

Macaron Tower (bw)

Macaron Tower (bw) I planned to take my shot(s) in Pisa, around the site of the famous “leaning tower”. I was there one hour before the exact time (11:10 in Italy) looking around for an original idea, an hard task for one of the most photographed place in the world. I took two shots, this is the first: I noticed the tower reflection in a bar window containing a nice cake-stand with a collapsed “tower” of macarons. Luckily, the bar is open at the time I need to take the picture so I continued to walk around and I went back at the exact time. ...

on the road with Dimitar

on the road with Dimitar I was preparing so long for this minute. I knew I was going to be on the road to Croatia on a sailing trip. And I hoped to get the sea into my photo... So I was not very happy when I realized that the timing of the trip was set for few hours later. Instead to the sea I reached only to Belgrade, under heavy rain and heavy clouds. The Dimitar cyclone, that hit the Balkans last week, was in it's full shape. However... the skies didn't hesitated to make some drama on the road line I shot while traveling. Hope you find it interesting. ...

Caracas Centro-Norte

.................................... This city, which is the capital of Venezuela, is located on the slopes of the Avila Mountain or Guaraira Repano, which in this One Minute, placidly sleeps without letting itself be seen. This is a small sample of the space I inhabit, with its attractive architectonic contrasts, where amid highways, avenues and streets, buildings of different sizes converge with houses from prior centuries, new ones encrusted on top of one another, and industrial buildings, all of them in the same surrounding...At this early morning hour my city appears serene and quiet...in a few minutes it will begin a new day of exasperated ebullition...! ...

Les p'tits vieux (From my wife for OMOE 2015)

Les p'tits vieux (From my wife for OMOE 2015) This is the picture my wife took for the OMOE 2015. When I told her about the project, she found it a great idea, and wanted to join, even though she's not an actual member of KJJ. Here are her words about the picture : "As we were on the flea market, I wanted to find a point of view from where we could see the time... I prepared my framing, and then took several pictures with the people passing by. When I looked at this one afterwards, I liked the scene with these two old men looking at the stuff presented there... They seemed somewhat out of time." ...

Gospel Truth

Gospel Truth (Exclusive photo)Time: 03:10:36pm Trust me, no plan or strategy works in day light shot, only if you want to shot by depending on natural lights. I had some frames/ layouts in my mind for the place I went to. But unluckily the time here it was 3:10pm at noon and here it's end of the summer now. On top that its been more than a month, a burning sun ruling on our head. Same went for that day and it was a shiny sunny day with a race of playful clouds. Now lemme put in that way, no one can make an idea how heaviness it could be on the time. I was like running and running like hell to get a better view and 80% of times I killed to look for a better place. Yet luckily I've found a place with a little portion of water, like a small pond and I saw the sun reflections on the water, what actually stop me there. Since I was using a wide lens It was a bit hard for me to get the sun and the sun reflection on the water simultaneously. Moreover I was all set with some of free click and it was kind of okay for the burning sunny day. Unfortunately or fortunately, just a few seconds before when the time arrived I was a bit down for a while, because so many clouds came by the sun. As a result the camera setting I have fixed for the sunny day was ruined in a way or other. I am glad to admit that, last year OMOE, 2014, I was the first someone from our country, Bangladesh and last time it was heavy raining at middle of the night at 03:00am. This time its completely opposite. Last time I submitted a colour reflected night street shot and this time, I was thinking of to submit a black and white shot. Hope it will make a a home in the book like before. Cheers from Bangladesh Ruka ...

OMEO_2

OMEO_2 I was eager to participate again to OMEO. That forced me to go out and reflect to what i wanted on the picture. So even if the result is not pretty good, well! this is a virtuous approach. Firstly I wanted to photograph the Toulon market. But my test last weekend not entirely seduced me and I was afraid of being gen by passing cars ahead me. And finaly there is a road where i spend since a long time for working and that I had never photographed. It runs along the bay of Tamaris in front of the 'Rade de toulon'. The atmosphere is very peaceful with its wooden fishing boats and old molds park unlike the city opposite more agitated. So i left 1 hour ahead to look at the different point of view. I have not been able to choose among the choices avaible. At 11h10 (F* french summertime) I hurried to shoot multiple angles. voila, glad I did it again and see the enthousiasm of the other participants in this project. ...

Melbourne 10/10 @ 8.10pm

Melbourne 10/10 @ 8.10pm This year's OMOE took place just after sunset time in Melbourne, Australia, and I chose to go to a new spot to take a shot of the CBD, from Birraurng Marr Park.
It was a mad rush to get there and park on time, as the city was busy, but I made it, and just escaped a massive storm that struck about 10 minutes afterwards!
This image is a typical view of Melbourne at night, with the reflection of the building in the Yarra river, and a long exposure (13 sec) enabled me to smooth the water and catch some of the tram lights on the bridge ...

Just to be there with you! :))

Just to be there with you! :)) I was in the middle of a family get together...got out and went to the terrace to click for OMOE....the sun was all over..and the scene outside was just no so good...and I just clicked my shadow just to be with you all...I had this great feeling that all around the world everyone was clicking at somewhat same time...what a feeling!! My time I think is not so correct, few minutes late..but still I wanted to be a part of this project! I remembered you all that moment so much! Thank you Kujaja for such a great thing!!! ...
