Curators First Choice

The curators first choice is awarded to Risky K.C.liu for the image 'CR7'

Ed Robertson: When I first stumbled across this photograph, the first thing that really struck me was the sheer scale of the subject against the towering and menacing backdrop. Its a David and Goliath kind of story. One about someone who's up against some big opponents but is determined to beat them, no matter how difficult it may be. The shadow thats coming from the subject may be a small part of the frame, but it's such wonderful and mesmerising element that adds a sense of playfulness to a rather dark image. That shadow single handedly propelled this photo to the top of my list. The foresight from the photographer, the excellent framing, the timing and the story that they have created is masterful. Well done!

Curators Second Choice

The curators second choice is awarded to Christopher Reuter for the image 'Gold Digger'

Ed Robertson: The sheer ridiculous and comedic story thats unfolding in this photograph is great example of why you should always have a camera on you. Well done!

Ed Robertson

Ed Robertson Ed Robertson is an London based professional photographer who specialises in street photography. Ed Robertson predominately focus on capturing the every day in habitants of London through street portraits, juxtaposition and candid street photos.

Photography is my passion, and that passion that will undoubtedly drive me insane someday. I don’t photograph subjects. I photograph the way they make me feel. Admittedly, it’s a bit of a strange concept. But it’s honest – and it’s the best way to describe my approach to the craft.

I wrestle with every image I shoot. I assume perfection is possible and I want to wring it out of every picture. If that’s all you ever know about me, it’s enough to say you know me very, very well.
